         THE POLICE

      The Police were a British punk rock band formed in 1977. The members were Sting (vocals, bass, keyboard, saxophone and harmonica), Andy Summers (guitar, vocals and keyboard), Stewart Coperland (drums, vocals and keyboard) and Henry Padovani (guitar).

    The band became popular between the 1970s – 1980s, and they’re considerated one of the most successful punk bands and one of the leaders of the Second British Invasion.
     One of their debut albums “Outlandos d’Amour” got into no. 6 of the UK music chart. Another albums are “Ghost in the Machine” and “Synchronity”.

           

ELVIS COSTELLO

     Elvis Costello is a British singer and songwriter. He started his career in the 1970s to nowadays.
     His debut album “My Aim is True” gave him success. His second album, “This Year’s Model”, was included into the list of the best albums from 1967 – 1987. The first three albums are in the 500 Greatests Albums of All Time.
     Costello has won a Grammy Award, and included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He is also considerated one of the greatests artists of all time.

     He composed songs for motion pictures like “God Give Me Strenght”.

   THE JAM

The Jam was a British punk rock band formed in the 1970s. The members were Paul Weller (vocals, guitar and bass), Rick Buckler (drums) and Bruce Foxton (vocals and bass).

     They have released one live album and six studio albums. The last one, “The Gift” hit number one in the UK top chart. Another albums are “In the City” and “Setting Songs”.
     During their success, they composed songs of different music genres.


THE CLASH

     The Clash were a British band formed in  1976. The members were Joe Strummer (vocals and guitar), Mick Jones (guitar), Paul Simonon (bass) and Nicky Headon (drums).
They got fame with their album “The Clash” and with the next album “London Calling”, they got recognition in the USA, considered as the best album of the 1980s. The album “Combat Rock” had a Platinum certification. The last album is “Cut the Crap”.

The Clash was included into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. Also, they were declared no. 28 in the list of the 100 greatest artists of all time.

    

BUZZCOCKS

     Buzzcocks are a British punk/rock band formed in 1976. The members are Pete Shelley (vocals and guitar), Steve Diggle (guitar and vocals), Chris Remington (bass) and Danny Farrant (drums).
Their songs combine pop sound with punk sounds, described as “punk masterpieces” by an important critic.
Some of their albums are “Another Music in a Different Kitchen”.
The name of the group comes from a headline called “It’s the Buzz, cock!” in a rock magazine.
